Hello Reader,Each week, I share one insight, one prompt, and a short grounding practice to help you grow with AI in alignment, not overwhelm. This is for conscious entrepreneurs who value substance over shortcuts. AI Insight That Matters 💡Show Don't TellLast week I taught a live session for a large group of coaches. Three hours before it started, I was still changing one slide. The slide was about what AI can do with your own material. When I teach, I use an example coach called Sarah. She isn't a real person. The plan was to show a welcome email that AI had written from Sarah's notes about her coaching. I looked at it and thought, everyone here has already seen AI write an email. So I took it out and opened a web page in its place. It was a homepage, the front page of a website, for Sarah's coaching business. ChatGPT, an AI chat tool, had built it from the same notes. Her headline and her method were on it, on a page you could scroll through. I showed it for about a minute. Then I asked one question. "What could you build from what makes your coaching distinctive?" What I said at the time was short. "Writing is boring. Doing is the new power of AI." By doing, I mean AI making things that work. Here's what changing that slide taught me. People have already seen AI write, so one more written example of AI writing shows nothing new. An email fits the picture they already have. To them, AI is the thing that writes emails and social media posts. So they see it, and nothing changes for them. When people see a working page, they ask a different question. They ask what they could make. Most of us still use AI as a writer. We ask it for the post and the email, and those do help. But the notes that give you an email can also give you a web page, or a simple calculator your clients can use. This also matters any time you show your work to someone. The example you choose tells them what's possible. So next time you show someone what you do with AI, pick something it built. Show people something that works, and they start asking what they could build. It evokes imagination... AI Prompt That Works ✨Build a Homepage With AIThe prompt below works in ChatGPT or in Claude, another AI chat tool. Both can build a web page and show it to you inside the chat. Paste in the prompt, which is the text in the box. The AI then asks you three questions, one at a time. Answer in your own words, as you'd say it to a friend. Then it builds a one-page homepage from your answers, and you can see the page on your screen. (The page stays inside the chat. It isn't on the internet yet, and the button doesn't go anywhere.) The Prompt: I want you to build a world class one-page homepage for my business, using my own words.
First, ask me these three questions, one at a time. Wait for my answer before you ask the next one.
1. Who do you help, and what is life like for them before they find you?2. What is different for them after working with you?3. What are the three to five things you do with them to make that change happen?
When you have all three answers, build the homepage as one working web page and show it to me here in the chat. Give it a headline, a short section for each of my answers, and one button that says "Book a call".
Use my words wherever you can. Do not invent testimonials, results, prices or qualifications. If the page needs something I have not told you, leave a clear note on the page that says what is missing.
After you show me the page, tell me which of my sentences the headline came from. Then stop.Give it ten minutes today. When the page appears, look at which of your own sentences became the headline. The goal is not just to see how AI can "build" things. It's so you can see how your input affects what the AI creates. Grounding Practice ☯Rest Your HandsSit somewhere you can stay for five minutes. Rest your hands on your legs, in whatever way feels easy. Bring your attention to your hands. Feel their weight. Feel the warmth in your palms and the air on your fingers. These hands have been busy all day. They've typed, carried things, opened doors and held a cup. Let them do nothing for a while. When your mind moves to the next task, come back to the feeling in your palms. Before you finish, press your palms together for a moment and notice the warmth between them. Then let them go, and carry on with your day. Personal Note ❤️🔥"For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them."

On Sunday, I spent time getting ready to make a video. I've been meaning to get back to YouTube for months, and my studio is set up. So I sat down with my editing software and worked through the details. I decided on the sound settings. I found out what the software can do on its own and what I still have to do by hand. I finished with a seven-step plan for the first test. I didn't record anything. Some of that was good preparation. Getting ready also feels like work, and it's safe. Nobody can watch my preparation and say the video is no good. I can't tell you whether Sunday was preparation or a way to put off recording the video. I'm choosing the former ;) My plan starts with the next video I record. That video has no date yet. Maybe you've got something like this. Everything is ready, and the thing itself hasn't started. I don't have a lesson for you. I haven't started mine either. Reply and tell me what yours is, and I'll tell you whether I've pressed record yet. 🎬 Go DeeperLast week I wrote about a coach who was afraid to post her writing, and then did. This post is the longer version. It helps you see whether a draft needs more work, or whether you’re afraid to post it. Thanks for being here. If this resonates, share it with someone who would benefit from hearing this. Reply and let me know what landed. 🙏 Colin P.S. If you’re a coach, I’m teaching a free live masterclass with Coaching.com. It’s called What Leading Coaches Are Doing Differently With AI. It’s 75 minutes, and you’ll use AI to put your coaching into words. Two sessions are left, on Tuesday October 13 at 11am Eastern and Thursday October 15 at 4pm Eastern. Pick the one that suits you. |
