The moment you lost your sovereignty (and didn't notice)

Hello Reader,

Each week, I share one strategic insight and one grounding practice to help you grow with AI in alignment, not overwhelm.

This is for conscious entrepreneurs who value substance over shortcuts.

AI Insight That Matters 💡

The Sovereignty Test

I caught myself this week evaluating an AI tool for a client, and I noticed something unsettling.

The tool was perfectly capable. The marketing was compelling. Everyone in their space was using it. But something felt off—not wrong exactly, just... unexamined.

And that's when it hit me: the moment you adopt a tool without proper evaluation, you've already abandoned your sovereignty.

Most coaches I work with are outsourcing their discernment to marketing, FOMO, or "everyone's using it." They're letting enthusiasm bypass wisdom. They're treating tool adoption like a transaction instead of what it actually is: an agreement to let someone else's values shape how you think and operate.

Because here's what we don't talk about: every tool you integrate changes you. It shapes your processes, influences your thinking, and quietly colonizes your practice with its assumptions about what matters.

When you skip due diligence, when you don't ask the hard questions about privacy, ethics, alignment, and actual need, you're not just risking compliance issues or data leaks. You're risking something far more fundamental: your capacity to stay aligned.

This isn't about becoming paranoid or analysis-paralyzed. It's about recognizing that thorough evaluation isn't administrative overhead. It's a spiritual practice. It's how you maintain integrity in a world designed to bypass your wisdom.

Those who are building sustainable AI practices aren't the ones adopting fastest. They're the ones asking the deepest questions before they adopt anything at all.

Your sovereignty lives in that pause. In that willingness to evaluate before you integrate. In that commitment to let your values—not someone else's marketing—determine what enters your practice.

Your sovereignty lives in the pause before adoption.

AI Prompt That Works ✨

The Sovereignty Filter (Prompt)

Before adopting any AI or digital tool, run it through this evaluation framework.

When to use it: Before signing up for any new tool, platform, or AI system, especially when you feel urgency or FOMO pushing you forward.

The Prompt:

I'm considering adopting [TOOL NAME] for [SPECIFIC USE CASE]. Help me evaluate this through a sovereignty lens.

First, what questions should I ask about:
- Data privacy and ownership
- Ethical alignment with my values
- Dependencies this creates in my practice
- What I'm outsourcing vs. augmenting
- Exit strategy if this doesn't work
Then, help me identify: What am I NOT seeing because I'm excited about this tool's capabilities?

How to use it: Copy this into Claude or ChatGPT, fill in your specific tool and use case, then sit with the questions it surfaces. Don't rush past discomfort. The questions that make you uncomfortable are often the most important.

What to expect: You'll surface concerns you hadn't considered. You'll notice where marketing bypassed your discernment. You'll either feel more confident moving forward, or you'll save yourself from a misaligned integration.

Grounding Practice ☯

The Alignment Check Practice

This is a somatic practice for evaluating tools through your body's wisdom, not just your mind's logic.

The Practice: Find a quiet moment. Close your eyes. Think about the tool you're considering.

Notice where you feel expansion in your body—openness, curiosity, possibility. Now notice where you feel contraction—tension, resistance, doubt.

Ask your body: "Does this tool serve my highest alignment?"

Don't rush the answer. Let it emerge. Your body knows things your mind hasn't articulated yet.

Purpose: This practice reconnects you to your deepest discernment. It reminds you that sovereignty isn't just intellectual, it's embodied. Your system knows when something is aligned or when enthusiasm is masking misalignment.

What to notice: The difference between excitement (mind-driven) and rightness (body-confirmed). They're not always the same thing.

Personal Note ❤️‍🔥

"Knowledge speaks, but wisdom listens." - Jimi Hendrix

I'm learning that building something meaningful requires saying no to a hundred attractive things that aren't quite right.

This week I've been deep in framework development, building evaluation systems that help coaches integrate AI without losing themselves in the process. It's slow, detailed work. Not sexy. Not particularly shareable on social media.

But it matters. Because every coach I work with is being bombarded with tools promising to solve all their problems. And very few of them have a framework for discernment that goes deeper than features and pricing.

In a couple of weeks I'll be attending Thinkers 50 in London, surrounded by some of the brightest minds shaping how we think about leadership, business, and the future. I'm there as a student, not a speaker. Just listening. Absorbing. Letting myself be shaped by proximity to that level of thinking.

And I keep coming back to the same realization: the future belongs to people who can maintain their sovereignty while everything around them accelerates. Who can stay aligned while everyone else adopts first and questions later.

That's the work. That's what matters.
