Nobody's talking about the second wave

Hello Reader,

Each week, I share one insight, one prompt, and a short grounding practice to help you grow with AI in alignment, not overwhelm.

This is for conscious entrepreneurs who value substance over shortcuts.

AI Insight That Matters 💡

The Second Wave

Last Tuesday morning I was sitting with a coffee, watching 12 AI agents work across my business simultaneously. Market research agent. Copywriting agent. Web build agent. Email sequence agent. All of them running in parallel through Claude Code, each handling a different piece of the puzzle.

I had an image of the conductor in my head. Standing calmly at the podium, guiding the orchestra with presence and poise.

That was the image. Here was the reality: I was frenetic. My mind was jumping between threads, trying to hold everything at once. My breathing was shallow. My chest was tight. I could feel the pull to check this agent, then that one, then the next. Not calm orchestration. Frantic surveillance.

And in that moment, sitting with a coffee that had gone cold, I realised something...

This is the second wave of AI adoption. And almost nobody is talking about it.

The first wave is technical. Can I use the tools? How do I write better prompts? What workflows can I automate? Most people are still here, and that's fine. It's where everyone starts.

But for those of us who've crossed that threshold, who've built the agents, designed the systems, felt the power of parallel execution, a completely different challenge emerges. It's not "how do I use this?" anymore.

It's "who am I becoming because of this?"

Because the tools work. They work brilliantly. And that's precisely the problem. When AI can run twelve things at once, the bottleneck shifts. It's no longer capability. It's your nervous system. Your attention. Your ability to remain grounded when everything is happening everywhere, all at once.

The first wave asks: can you operate the technology? The second wave asks: can you operate yourself?

I've spent years teaching that presence is a capacity, not a personality trait. That it can be developed, strengthened, and practised. But I'll be honest. Sitting there with those 12 agents running, I felt the gap between what I teach and what I was living. And that gap was the insight.

The quantum leap we've made with agentic AI means the old rhythm of "talk to AI, get a response, talk to AI, get a response" is gone. It's parallel now. Simultaneous. And if you don't have a practice for staying centred inside that, the technology doesn't liberate you. It fragments you.

The second wave isn't about learning more. It's about grounding deeper.

When everything runs all at once, the only thing that can't be automated is your presence.

AI Prompt That Works ✨

Your Second Wave Audit

Use this when you've been working with AI for a while and suspect the real challenge has shifted from technical to personal.

The Prompt:

I've been using AI tools regularly in my business and I've noticed something shifting. I want to do an honest audit of my relationship with AI, not my skills with it.
Help me explore these five areas one at a time. Ask me follow-up questions before moving to the next area:
Pace: Am I moving faster because I'm clear, or because the tools let me avoid slowing down?
Attention: Where is my focus when AI is working? Am I present, or am I anxiously monitoring?
Identity: Which parts of my work have I handed to AI that I probably shouldn't have? What do I miss doing myself?
Boundaries: Do I have a clear rhythm for when AI runs and when I step away? Or has it become always-on?
Sovereignty: Am I directing the technology, or reacting to it?
After we've explored all five, create a one-page document called 'My AI Operating Rhythm' that captures: what I'll keep delegating, what I'm reclaiming, and the daily practice I'll use to stay grounded.

This produces three reusable documents you can drop into any AI conversation, any platform, any tool. Build them once. Refine as you evolve. The compound return shows up in every interaction after.

What you'll get: A personal operating rhythm document that defines your relationship with AI on your terms, not a productivity hack, but a sovereignty framework.

Try it today: Set aside 20 minutes. Not while agents are running. Not between tasks. In stillness. That's part of the point.

Grounding Practice ☯

The Return

Before you open any tool today, try this.

Sit with both feet flat on the floor. Close your eyes. Place one hand on your chest.

Notice what's already running in your mind. The tabs. The threads. The half-finished thoughts competing for attention. Don't try to stop them. Just notice the speed.

Now ask yourself, quietly: "Is this pace mine? Or did I inherit it from my tools?"

Stay with whatever arises. There's no right answer. Just the noticing.

When you feel something settle, even slightly, open your eyes. That settled place is where your real work begins. Not before.

Personal Note ❤️‍🔥

"We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time." — T.S. Eliot

That's what last Tuesday felt like. I've taught the Four Capacities for months now. Presence, Pattern, Production, Partnership. Presence is first for a reason. It's the foundation everything else rests on.

And yet there I was, twelve agents deep, my own foundation cracking. Not because the technology failed. Because it succeeded so completely that it exposed exactly where I still had work to do.

That's what the second wave does. It doesn't break you. It shows you where you were already fragile.

I'm still learning what it means to stay grounded when the ground itself keeps shifting. I suspect you are too.
