Hello Reader,Each week, I share one insight, one prompt, and a short grounding practice to help you grow with AI in alignment, not overwhelm. This is for conscious entrepreneurs who value substance over shortcuts. AI Insight That Matters π‘Human Isn't EnoughI spent this week wrestling with a single word. My business partner Rosario and I were naming our new venture. We kept circling "human." Human-first AI. Human-centered transformation. Human at the heart. It felt right. Until it didn't. Here's what stopped me: human is neutral. Humans built the pyramids. Humans also built the systems that oppressed the people who built them. Humans create art that moves souls. Humans create algorithms that exploit attention. Human can be brilliant or brutal, creative or destructive. "Human-first" doesn't guarantee anything good. Then we found a different word. Humane. Humane isn't neutral. It's a choice. By definition, it means compassion and benevolence. It means treating people with dignity and care. It means integrity without compromise. The shift seems small. It's not. When you say "human-first AI," you're describing who's involved. When you say "humane AI," you're describing how it's done. The first is a fact. The second is a standard. This matters because the AI conversation has been hijacked by two camps: those racing to replace humans entirely, and those insisting humans must stay "in the loop" without asking what kind of loop we're creating. That bits very important. Neither camp is asking the deeper question: are we building something that makes people's lives better? Are we treating the humans in the equation with compassion? Are we acting with integrity even when no one's watching? That's the humane standard. And it changes everything about how you approach AI in your business. AI Prompt That Works β¨The Humane Filter PromptUse this before implementing any AI tool or workflow in your business. The Prompt: I'm considering implementing [describe the AI tool or workflow]. Help me evaluate this through a humane lens by answering:1. Does this empower the humans involved, or does it diminish their capability over time?2. Does this create clarity and calm, or does it add complexity and pressure?3. Would I be proud to explain this to my team, my customers, and my family?4. Am I building capability here, or creating dependency?Be direct. Challenge my assumptions. Help me see what I might be missing. How to use it: Run this before any significant AI decision. The answers reveal whether you're building something humane or just something efficient. Grounding Practice β―The Integrity PauseBefore your next AI interaction today, pause for 30 seconds. Ask yourself: Am I approaching this with compassion? For myself, for my team, for the people this will affect? Notice what shifts. Humane isn't just a strategy. It's a posture. Personal Note β€οΈβπ₯
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." - Viktor Frankl This week I registered a new domain. humanebusiness.ai. It's a venture I've founded with Rosario LondoΓ±o, my partner in the corporate AI training work. We've spent months in boardrooms watching leaders grapple with the same question: how do we adopt AI without losing what makes us human? That question led us here. To building something that answers it properly. I'll share more next week when the site goes live. For now, I'll just say this: sometimes the right word unlocks everything. Speaking of building with intention, I'm running a new series of free masterclasses with my friends at Coaching.com starting Tuesday. "The AI Ready Coaching Business" is for coaches who want to lead the AI conversation, not fear it. Multiple dates available.
